Visitor Information
How to Find Us
Media Arts and Technology is housed in several locations across the UCSB campus:
- Elings Hall
- The faculty offices and labs are located on the second floor of Elings Hall, which is located on the eastern edge of the UCSB campus, behind the east (main) gate entrance and next to Kohn Hall and parking structure 10. (D-6 on the campus map).
- Phelps Hall
- The staff offices are located on the third floor of Phelps Hall. The front office is in room 3309. Phelps Hall is located on the north side of the UCSB campus, between Campbell Hall and parking lot 11. (D-4 on the campus map).
- South Hall
- The student workspace and lab area is located on the fourth floor of South Hall in room 4430, across from the Music building. (E-3 on the campus map; SW corner of the building labeled both South Hall and Girvetz Hall).

Parking
Visitor parking is available nearby in these locations:
- For Elings Hall: Parking structure 10. The visitor spaces are on the first level. Parking tickets must be purchased from the ticket dispensing machines located near the stairwells.
- For Phelps Hall or South Hall: Use the "Mesa" parking structure nearby.

Travel
UCSB is about 100 miles north of Los Angeles. Visitors can fly directly into Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) and take a shuttle or taxi to the hotel, or fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and drive up to Santa Barbara - which can take from 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on traffic.
Driving directions
From the south, take route 101 north through Santa Barbara, then take route 217, which goes directly to the UCSB campus East gate. From the north, take route 101 south to the Los Carneros Road exit; go south on Los Carneros, then take a left on Mesa Road in the UCSB campus.
