Household robots include vacuum robots, carpet cleaning robots, pool cleaning robots, robots that serves drinks, and robots that caretaker robots. The Carebot, a product of Gecko Systems, is a robot that serves drinks and does chores around the house. It has a built in modem, making upgrading software much more convenient. You can also control Carebot with Visual Basic or Java. The provided brain and mapping system enables Carebot to explore, map, avoid obstacles, schedule tasks, and balance CPU load. The vacuuming robot was developed at Carnegie Mellon's Sensor Based Planning Lab. The cleaning robot was developed by Indoor Environmental Solutions. It has four interchangeable cleaner heads: air wand, spray wand, rotary brush, and dual horizontal brush. The robot comes with a camera, making it good for cleaning ducts.
