A dialogue has now been created between the past and the present. One who enters the room and listens will hear a combination of ambient sounds and voices of those who previously occupied the space. The sounds one hears in the space are live, in the sense that they are being created and are perceived in real time. They are always the sound of the present, but they arrive out of the past. The quality of the signal may degrade over time, just as the context may disappear, but the signal will always be there, and the room will remember the sounds it used to contain. |
