A brain-computer interface provides a direct communication pathway between a brain and a computer. BCI's are capable of reading our thoughts and emotional states. Using DSP technology along with BCI technology allows us to add multiple inputs to our sensory systems that are currently limited to one input. For example, with vision our input is limited to what we can actually see in the world around us. Social syn-aesthetics explores methods of adding content to our sight based on out emotions, environment, thoughts, and other social syn-aesthetic beings. Likewise, our sense of hearing is augmented to further sonify our existence. Generative music and sound synthesis algorithms run in the DSP to produce soundtracks to our lives.
