Proposed Site Info

Occassion: World Expo, 12 May - 12 August 2012

Location: Yeosu, South Korea

Description: Yeosu (in Korean literally "peaceful water city") is a city located in the Jeollanam-do province of South Korea. It has a population of approximately 320,000 and has an area of around 500 square kilometers. Its territory lies scattered on one main peninsula and 317 smaller islands (49 of which are inhabited) located in the Suncheon Bay. Its location on the water makes it an ideal place for the metedome, and several projects similar to metadome in some respects have been proposed for the Expo (see references).
