This year’s show theme explores the encounter of current cutting-edge developments in media arts with the rapidly developing challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Projects which relate generative computation, expressive fabrication, robotics, and electronic music to AI, cognitive science, and neurobiology will be presented.

"As our world becomes increasingly transformed by emerging artificial intelligence and related technologies, we’re finding ways to fuse much-needed elements of softness and humaneness and beauty with the lucid rigor of science and engineering, helping to navigate creatively what might otherwise become a harsh transition." - MAT Chair Marcos Novak
